Samsung's two smart glasses clear the FCC, pointing to a Gentle Monster and Warby Parker release

Samsung's two FCC approvals cover Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The partner codes suggest Gentle Monster and Warby Parker frames, but price and shipping dates remain open.

Two Samsung devices described as "Smart Glasses" received FCC equipment authorization on September 27, according to MIXED. The approvals cover Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios. They move Samsung's glasses closer to a US release, while leaving buyers without a price or a firm shipping date.

Road to VR links the SM-O200P model code to Warby Parker and SM-O200J to Gentle Monster, based on codes seen on pre-production frames. The grants themselves use the FCC identifiers A3LSMO200P and A3LSMO200J and the description "Smart Glasses." The eyewear partner mapping comes from those earlier sightings.

What the radio approvals establish

MIXED reports that the applications date to July 22. The authorized radios include Bluetooth, 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, and 6GHz Wi-Fi 6E. Neither filing lists LTE or 5G cellular bands, so these approvals do not authorize the glasses to connect directly to a US mobile network.

The filings leave the display, cameras, microphones, battery and software unspecified. Road to VR reports a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, a 12MP camera and up to nine hours of use per charge as expected specifications. It also says an official specification sheet remains unavailable. Treat those figures as reported expectations until Samsung confirms them for the retail models.

Sealed filing photos, public preview frames

MIXED says the FCC's external, internal and test setup photos, along with the user manuals, are under confidentiality until March 26, 2027. That date governs access to the filing material, rather than setting a release date.

Buyers can already see preview designs. Google's May announcement showed Gentle Monster and Warby Parker frames, including the Gentle Monster pair pictured above. Google said audio glasses would launch first in fall 2026, with display glasses a separate type of eyewear. The radio grants alone cannot establish which display capabilities a retail model will have.
