SteamVR beta 2.18.1 appears to fix right-eye ghosting for Linux users streaming VR through Steam Link. MIXED reports that eight of the 12 owners who reported the problem say it is gone after the update. Valve's September 23 patch notes mention fixes for video corruption, checkerboarding and stuck streams, but never name this bug.

The reported symptom was specific. Head movement made the right-eye image double or judder while the left eye stayed clear. Holding the head still stopped it. The reports covered Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, Pico 4 and Pico 4 Ultra. Every owner who identified a graphics card named an AMD card.

One owner found the same right-eye stutter in a recording of the encoded stream played on the desktop. That places the visible fault in the video sent by the PC. Owners also reported that an open SteamVR dashboard or a visible WayVR window stopped the ghosting.

The eight confirmations arrived between September 24 and 27. Owners who gave version numbers listed SteamVR beta 2.18.1 and Steam Link 2.0.24.2395. MIXED says Valve requested retesting but had yet to close the report or link it to the patch notes.
