Xreal has received FCC authorisation for an unannounced Bluetooth keyboard, and the application includes documents named for Aura. MIXED reports that MiCOM Labs issued the grant for FCC ID 2BBNY-X7012 on September 29. The filing suggests Xreal is preparing a typing accessory for its Android XR glasses, though its place in the Aura package remains unclear.
What links the keyboard to Aura
The grant describes the device as "XREAL Keyboard". MIXED identifies an Aura quick-start guide and an Aura keyboard safety and warranty card among the submitted exhibits. Those file names provide the connection to the glasses.
According to MIXED's account of the public lab photos, the silver keyboard has two hinges and folds into three sections. It opens into a QWERTY layout with a function row, arrow keys and a USB-C port. The keys include media, brightness and volume controls, plus a launcher key marked with four squares.
The radio authorisation covers the 2402 to 2480 MHz Bluetooth band. It permits US marketing under the FCC's radio rules. Xreal has yet to announce a keyboard price or release date, or say whether Aura buyers will receive it in the box.
A possible addition to the glasses and puck
Aura combines optical see-through glasses with a Snapdragon-powered compute puck running Android XR. MIXED reports an autumn 2026 launch target and a US price ceiling of $1,500 before tax.
The same report says Xreal's Aura page already lists support for external Bluetooth keyboards, mice and game controllers. A folding keyboard from Xreal would give buyers another option for text input. The filing leaves open what advantage it would offer over an ordinary Bluetooth keyboard.
