Meta VR Glasses will run Quest games when they arrive in spring 2027, according to UploadVR's report from Meta Connect. That broad compatibility comes with a practical catch for players: the standard package has no controllers. Meta plans controller bundles through some retailers, and the glasses will work with Touch Plus controllers bought separately.
The launch lineup also includes games designed for hands. Those announcements give buyers two different ways to judge the glasses: by the Quest games they already own, or by games built around controller-free play.
Games built for hands
Beat Saber: Flux is due in spring 2027 with a hand-tracking mode, 35 songs, and optional controller support. The update will also revise the campaign, progression, and rewards. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies VR uses hand gestures to present evidence and is due in 2027 for both VR Glasses and Quest.
Tetris Effect: Mixed Realities is planned for 2027. It uses hand controls, room geometry, and passthrough for mixed reality play. Dragon Grove, a hand-tracked puzzle game, is planned for the glasses' launch and will also work without controllers on Quest 3 and 3S. Two Point Hospital VR has a hand-tracking interface on VR Glasses and is coming to Quest 3 and 3S too.
Other announced games include Story of Seasons: Your Wonderful Life, Cardmada, and Dice Throne Digital for the glasses and Quest 3 and 3S. UploadVR does not describe them all as controller-free. Availability for most of these games is still stated by year or launch window, rather than a firm date.
What to check at launch
Meta VR Glasses are scheduled for spring 2027. The useful launch tests for players will be how reliably hand tracking works in the announced games, which retailers carry a controller bundle, and the total price of a setup that plays a buyer's favorite Quest titles.
