The Walkabout Mini Golf studio says 10 people will leave over the coming months. It plans to keep the game and servers running, but new courses may arrive less often.

Mighty Coconut is cutting 10 jobs over the next several months, its second round of layoffs in 2026. Studio head Lucas Martell announced the decision on the day the Walkabout Mini Golf team announced its next downloadable course, according to UploadVR.

Martell said fewer new players are coming into VR and Walkabout Mini Golf, leaving the studio unable to support its current team size. Mighty Coconut cut 25% of its staff in January and raised the price of new paid courses from $3.99 to $4.99. UploadVR reports that the studio had already reduced this year's planned course releases to six.

What changes for Walkabout players

Martell said Walkabout Mini Golf and its servers will continue. The smaller team may release new courses less often. The studio also plans to keep working on Walkabout Dungeon Golfer and Grass as it seeks revenue beyond Walkabout.

UploadVR says Mighty Coconut had set its course schedule through 2027 before this round of layoffs. That schedule shows the studio had plans, while Martell's warning leaves the timing of future releases open.
