Steam Frame owners who need prescription lenses have three listed US prices: $59 from VR-Rock, $67.95 from Zenni, and $69.99 from AMVR. Availability is less straightforward. On September 22, MIXED Reality News found Zenni's page taking email sign-ups instead of orders, while VR-Rock showed sold out. AMVR said its paid orders would begin shipping September 23.
Valve sells no prescription inserts for the headset. Of these three, only Zenni's pair carries Valve's Steam Frame Compatible mark. Valve says accessories with that mark have been tested to work with Steam Frame. The other sellers say their inserts fit the headset, but Valve has not listed them under its mark.
What each price covers
Zenni announced its $67.95 pair on September 14. It includes single vision lenses made from 1.67 high-index material, an oil-resistant coating, a case, and a cloth. Zenni says buyers can enter a current prescription without a pupillary distance measurement. The inserts click in behind the headset lenses. Its announcement says the product launches September 14, yet the product page MIXED checked on September 22 still offered a launch notification instead of checkout.
AMVR's NL2 prescription inserts cost $69.99. MIXED reports that AMVR quotes 1.60-index lenses and expected to ship customized pairs from September 23 in paid-order order. VR-Rock lists $59 inserts and says its order form accepts sphere, cylinder, and axis values. Its page was sold out when MIXED checked it.
A fourth seller, VR Optician, had an email list and no posted price. MIXED reports that it planned to open orders later, so there is no useful number to put beside the three US listings yet. MIXED found no UK or European Steam Frame prices from these sellers on September 22.
