Meta plans a cinching strap for VR Glasses to help keep them in place during active games, according to Road to VR's report from Connect 2026. The strap will join the tips of the glasses' two temple arms. Buyers still need to know its price, when it will ship, and whether Meta will include it in the box.
Road to VR's Scott Hayden says Meta described an accessory that physically attaches to the temple arms, whose tips detach. That makes it a strap added to the glasses' frame, rather than a replacement for the whole head strap as on many Quest accessories. The report includes no images of the strap. The image above shows the glasses and their compute puck.
Why movement changes the fit question
Hayden found the glasses fairly secure during his Connect hands-on, without slipping down his nose or clipping his ears. He nevertheless expects fast head or body movements, or prolonged downward viewing, to make a tighter fit useful. He also describes a relatively narrow lens sweet spot, the area where eye position gives a clear view.
That is a reason to watch how well the strap holds the glasses in position. The report describes the attachment, but offers no test of the strap during active play.
VR Glasses are due in spring 2027 for about $1,300. Road to VR says they can play Quest games through hand tracking or optional Touch Plus controllers. Hayden also reports plans for a magnetic light blocker and Zenni Optical prescription lenses. Those accessories address separate needs from keeping the glasses snug during movement.
