CircuitLord has released a free Titanfall 2 VR conversion that adds head tracking, weapon aiming, mech weapon controls and manual reloads for every gun, according to Road to VR's October 2 report. PC VR players can play the single-player campaign. Multiplayer support remains outside the mod's current scope.
The main caveat is the movement. Titanfall 2 combines wall running, double-jumping, sliding and grappling with combat on foot and inside mechs. Road to VR warns that the amount of motion exceeds even a regular flatscreen shooter, with a risk of motion sickness despite the mod's snap turning option.
What the conversion changes
The mod adapts the game's weapon interactions for VR alongside head tracking. Road to VR reports interactive reloads across the weapon roster, including a gesture-based reload for the Wingman. Mech weapon controls also form part of the conversion, so the changes extend to the campaign's cockpit combat.
Players can get the mod through CircuitLord's mod installer, which Road to VR links in its report. The mod is free and requires the base game. The image above is a publisher-supplied screenshot of Titanfall 2 from its Steam page.
Road to VR says it has asked CircuitLord about possible multiplayer support and other additions. Its report gives no confirmed plan or date for multiplayer.
